RGC are making a growing impact across Super Rygbi Cymru, with their players featuring prominently in the competition’s individual performance charts — led by the outstanding form of fly-half Billy McBryde.
Stats up to Round 11
McBryde topped the Super Rygbi Cymru points-scoring standings, moving clear of the early pace-setters to lead the way with 114 points, becoming the first player this season to pass the century mark. His rise has been dramatic, highlighted by a competition-record 29-point haul in RGC’s 54–26 victory away at Bridgend Ravens — only their second win of the campaign at the time.
With 31 successful conversions at an 89% success rate, the best in the league, while he also sat second in total successful penalties.
Dion Jones continued to underline his all-round quality, featuring near the top in multiple attacking categories. He ranked second in linebreaks (9), second in defenders beaten (38), and leads the league in contact offloads (20).
Caio Parry has also made his mark with ball in hand, sitting joint-fourth for linebreaks and placing high in defenders beaten.
Up front, RGC’s work rate is just as impressive. Charlie Probert has been central to the side’s engine room, ranking second overall for rucks hit (211), while also placing highly for tackles and post-tackle involvements. Dafydd Thirsk has also featured prominently, ranking among the league leaders for carries, dominant tackles, total tackles, and post-tackle involvements — underlining his importance on both sides of the ball.
At the breakdown, James Brown continues to be a nuisance for opposition attacks, sitting second overall for turnovers won with 19.
Hopefully the stats will continue to rise on Saturday when RGC face Newport at Stadiwm Eirias, 5.15pm.
