With two games played and two remaining in the league-format competition, RGC currently sit on one win and one loss, while the hosts have started strongly with two wins and one draw.

2 games down and 2 games left, RGC head to Newport looking for a win on the road in the RGC Cup.

“We got the win last timeout against Cardiff at home, and this week’s challenge is backing it up. Newport is a difficult place to go - so the focus has been on making sure we’re fully prepared for Saturday as a group.

We know we can create chances and score points, but defensively, we need to be at the top of our game because Newport will ask plenty of questions, and make it difficult.

There are pros and cons to having the week off — we can head down to South Wales fresh after a good training week — but we also want to keep the momentum of winning. With the Cup being a league format, you just have to win your games and see where you end up.

The incentive of course, is a Cup semi-final, but that only comes if we perform over the next two games.”
