RGC to Recruit For Senior Team Head Coach

RGC has today advertised for a new Head Coach following a restructure within the staffing team as part of the WRU’s new One Wales strategy.

From RGC’s perspective, this restructure means all staff previously allocated to the senior team have been refocused on RGC Academy roles. This provides better support for young players coming through the pathway, with the vision of more players from the region signing professional contracts and representing Wales.

At present, Jon Callard is supporting the team as Head Coach in a consultancy capacity, with RGC Academy Manager Josh Leach continuing to guide the team from an overarching position until a new coaching team is appointed.

Alun Pritchard, RGC General Manager, said:

“This step has taken longer than expected due to the extended staff consultation process, but we’re now looking forward to bringing in new personnel with fresh ideas. We have the core of a great team with a blend of experienced heads alongside a number of young talents coming through. We aim to appoint the new staff as quickly as possible.”

Ar hyn o bryd, mae Jon Callard yn cefnogi’r tîm fel Prif Hyfforddwr mewn rôl ymgynghorol, gyda Josh Leach, Rheolwr Academi RGC, yn parhau i arwain y tîm nes y penodir tîm hyfforddi newydd.
